In this article, you'll learn how to add a pre-built AI Action to your AI Agent using a template, review its configuration, and test it with a real query.
Before you start
You need Owner, Admin, or AI Agent Admin role in Enjo.
At least one AI Agent must already be configured in your workspace. See Create AI Agent.
The external system you want to connect β for example, Jira or Salesforce β must already be integrated with Enjo. See Enjo App Integrations.
Step 1 β Open AI Actions
Go to AI Agents and select the agent you want to configure.
Select the template that matches your use case for example, Get ticket status for Jira.
Click Use this.
Select the connected account for the relevant platform for example, your Jira account.
Click Create AI Action.
Your AI Action is now added and appears in the AI Actions list.
π‘ If the platform you need is not yet connected, set it up first before continuing. See Enjo App Integrations.
Step 3 β Review the configuration
Click the AI Action entry in the list to open its details. You can review and edit the following:
Setting
Description
Linked app
The external platform this action operates on
Name and description
The action's label and what it does β the agent reads the description to decide when to invoke it
Approval confirmation
Whether the user must confirm before the action runs. When enabled, the agent asks for confirmation each time the action is triggered.
Output description
How the result is presented to the user
Question variations
Example user prompts the agent uses to recognise when to trigger this action
Query parameters
Pre-built parameters that can be adjusted as needed
π‘ Edit the question variations to include phrasings your users are likely to use. The more variations you add, the more reliably the agent will invoke the correct action.
Step 4 β Test the AI Action
Open the Playground or a test channel.
Enter a natural language query for example: "Get status of ticket Jira 81."
If Approval required is enabled, the agent asks you to confirm before executing. Click Yes to proceed.
Review the response and cross-check the returned details against the actual record in the external system.
π‘ Always test with a real record from your connected system β not a placeholder β to confirm the action is retrieving live data correctly.
